An Update | The London Student Experience

If you follow me on twitter you've probably seen my throwing around the hashtag #uStudents24. In a few days I'm going down to London along with 11 other bloggers, vloggers and online creatives to work with Unite Students. We'll be creating an hour by hour guide to all the good stuff you can do in London on a budget.

I'm travelling down on Monday but Wednesday is the big day when we're set the challenge of filling a whole 24 hours with sight seeing, shopping and food. Unite will put all the pictures, video and writing together and share it with you guys later this Summer! I'll be live tweeting as it all happens, as well as sharing snippets on instagram and snapchat (@rubesisobel).

There will be more blog posts as it happens so make sure you follow me on bloglovin' to find out where the trip takes us. I'll leave all the important links below... x

SportsShoes | Fashionably Fit

I have never been the girl on the sports team. I was never competitive when it came to sport, and team games really weren't my thing. I guess we could say that P.E wasn't really the highlight of my week, or my education as a whole- you get the picture. Thankfully over the past year or so I've found a few different things that I actually enjoy, much more than a game of Netball or Hockey. Swimming, Zumba, Yoga, and the newest addition to my routine, FitnessBlender- now those are things that I can get into.

My new-found like of exercise has called for some new workout gear, though, and sportsshoes.com kindly stepped in and sent me some Nike products as part of their Fashionably Fit campaign. I know that I'll never be one of those girls that manages to look radiant and glowing and actually nice when they work out, but now that my exercise kit has been upgraded I feel like I'm one step closer.

Nike Athletic AD Tank Top Vest
Firstly, the vest tee. I had my doubts because the fabric feels pretty thick, but it's still so breathable. I won't go into crazy detail but it's designed to wick away sweat, so it's really comfy to wear. It's been perfect in my Zumba classes and for jogging too.

Nike Free 3.0 V5 Women's Running Shoes
Do you think it's acceptable to live in these? Honestly, I've found myself trying to construct an outfit where I could make these work appropriate because I don't want to take them off. They're a barefoot trainer and lighter than the 5.0s that I've heard so much about, but my feet still feel supported during a light jog. I think with shoes it is genuinely down to the individual though, because the first few times I wore these whilst running my feet were feeling it a little afterwards, until they got used to a lighter trainer.

If you hadn't noticed, I've been loving the new editions to my gym kit. I used to throw any old t-shirt on but having some nice work out gear has actually proved to be a source of motivation over the past few weeks. Do you feel the same? Let me know - what's your favourite way to stay active?

Pretty Things in The Post

I've been revising since Monday and my brain already feels like it's turning to mush. My little escape has been reading blogs in revision breaks and making a mental note of all recipes that I want to try. Admittedly most of the time I've resorted to making chocolate cookies or brownies but I'm not that fussed because let's face it- when is there a bad time to eat a chocolate brownie? In between all this I've been trying to find the odd bit of time to write a post myself and I sprang at the chance to get the tripod out when these pretty necklaces dropped into my letter box, courtesy of Stone + Armour. Based just on my doorstep in Nottingham, S+A create handmade jewellery with semi-precious stones. Laura sent me over a few things to show you and they're just lovely. Perfect for layering over t shirts, or dressing up a little with a pair of heels. Although they're just getting started, there are so many pretty designs on the website and there really isn't an excuse because Stone and Armour ship worldwide.

Let me know what you think of this outfit- it's a little girlier than I would usually go for but I won't lie to you, it was pretty nice to be able to go bare legged without a goose bump in sight so I had to grab the chance while it lasted. Finger's crossed that there's more warm weather to come?!
