Mid-Month Favourites

I'm just going to put my hands up and say that I haven't blogged in forever because university life has been hectic. Writing and shooting outfits is something that I love to do and it sucks that I haven't been able to. But, I've just handed in my first assignment and my the outfits should hopefully be back soon. For now here's what I've been loving recently.

1) Phone Case, Primark- This is the cutest thing I've ever seen. It was super cheap and cheerful and I was seriously needing to update my phone case situation!
2) Carmex- After my favourite chapstick went walkies I picked this one up at the Supermarket. It works like nothing else and I love the packaging.
3) Rainy Day Nail Polish, Topshop- blue toned greys are a new favourite nail polish shade. It goes with everything and the Topshop nail polish is so long lasting!
4) Vixen Nail Polish, Revlon- the brush on this baby ain't so great, but the colour is! This was doing the rounds on all the blogs last year but I held off because last winter was all about Essie's Luxedo for me.
5) Alarm Clock, M&S- I tried to bring as many little reminders of home when I moved into university. Being surrounded by familiar little trinkets has made my room feel so much more like my room, if that makes sense.

How has October been for you so far? All I can think about right now is Halloween and playing dress-up. Did someone say Wednesday Addams? Watch this space! x

Grey Area

Wearing: Skirt, Tee, Boots - Primark. Bag - Zara.

Hello internet, the outfit posts are back! I had a mini hiatus from my usual content because 1) My wardrobe was feeling very uninspiring after a major clear-out (and I mean major. It was only a matter of time before it happened though, and Anna's video was the final push) and 2) Why not shake up what appears on TM?

The countdown has officially begun- I only have 3 nights left in my bed before I move out. The fact that I can't take my bed with me seriously upsets me, by the way. I guess this means that I need to start packing and step away from all the London Fashion Week vlogs on YouTube?

Autumn Inspiration '14

My annual Autumn Inspiration post is always one of my favourites to write. One year on and I'm still in love with burgundy nails, stacks of rings, ankle boots, and any other autumn cliche you can think of. Sorry, not sorry. Just looking at this compilation of images makes me excited for the colder months.

On Sunday I'm heading down to London for what seems to be becoming my traditional trip to LFW. I don't know how long I've spent looking blankly at my wardrobe, but I still don't know what to wear. A wardrobe full of clothes, and nothing to wear. Apologies, this post is just one cliche after another! Sending big love, xo

NOTD: Luxedo

Last week I visited the shops for a bit of a search through the sales, and only bought one thing that was actually in the sales. This Essie polish isn't it, but that doesn't matter because it's so pretty that I couldn't resist. Luxedo is a polish that I've heard lots of people rave about, and it's just as pretty in person. It's reminiscent of Chanel's Vendetta, (remember how much I went on about that one?) minus the little bit of shimmer it has.

With two coats it comes out much more black than I thought it would, but when it catches the light it's a gorgeous plum colour. The two coats lasted about 3 or 4 days before I saw a chip. Pretty good to say that I couldn't be bothered with a top coat. The formula is lovely, and the brush is that perfect size- just big enough to cover the nail in two oh-so-easy swipes.

Have you ever tried an Essie polish? (If not, why not?)

WOMF #5

Enter the bronze, smokey eye and pale, nearly bare skin. This one is all about the eyes. I stuck with the Garnier BB Cream as a base and concealed under my eyes, and around blemishes. Now to the exciting bit- the eyes. Starting with a wash of On and On Bronze from Maybelline, (what else would it be?) and then building up the colour with Benefit's Solid Gold. Get Down Brown went through the crease and under the eye and a clean brush helped blend it all together. Add a good few coats of mascara- I'm still using Benefit They're Real! and then go back under the eyes with concealor to clean up any of the fall out, and done!

You could always add a bit of contour- I dabbed on Topshop's Nevada, a really pale, peachy nude. I decided to keep my cheeks clean of blusher for a simple, christmas-do worthy look.

How would you wear this look?

October Favourites

Glam Glow Youth Mud Tinglexfoliate Treatment*- what a mouthful! I've had this a few months and have used it a good few times now, and I'm really impressed. There's been quite a bit of internet hype over this stuff and I can see why. It leaves your face tingly, man. (Can you tell I'm no skincare expert?) I like to treat my skin with this when it's feeling a bit sorry for itself because I know it will do the trick. It is pricey, but if you're willing to part with a bit of cash for your skincare, it's really worth it.

No7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour in Temptress- I had a good search through my mum's nail polish a few weeks ago and found this gem (among many others). The colour is the perfect oxblood / wine shade for Autumn, and looks great on toes and fingers. The packaging has been re-designed since and I'm not sure if they still sell this shade, but there'll be plenty of alternatives out there.

Weleda Almond Soothing Cleansing Lotion & Almond Soothing Facial Oil*- Like I said above, I'm no skincare expert, I just know what works for me. These two make a great duo that I've been using since the start of summer. I know that they'll never strip my skin (it's taken me a while to find a cleanser that won't) and all my makeup comes off, the gentle way.

Southwestern Style Sweater, Forever21- This beauty made it's first appearance earlier this week, which you can see here. It's the cosiest little jumper, and looks great with a pair of jeans and boots.

Loafers, Clarks- You can rely on Clarks for comfy shoes, and I love these quirky loafers. I had to go to three different store to get these in black, in my size and thank god they're worth it.

The Carrie Diaries- I've just finished watching the first series and it's great. I guess yeah, it is a typical teen series, but fashion, drama and cute boys is something that I can't resist.

Jennifer Lawrence- This, I'm sure, sounds like a really random one but c'mon, who doesn't like Jennifer Lawrence? She graced the cover of Harper's Bazaar this month and her interview was great.

Staying Home, Doing Nothing

I already don't know where I'm going with this post. All I know is that I haven't had a chance to write on here for a long time. So if you're prepared to hear me natter on, then welcome. Last night was so much fun spending a night on scary fair ground rides, eating candy-floss with great friends for company. But afterwards, I couldn't wait to get home and do nothing. At the end of the night I was okay with getting in the car to go home- I was looking forward to it, even though I had a fantastic evening. Weird.

Tonight, after being stuck in, home alone, I just want to do anything but be at home, doing nothing. (The phone call from a fore mentioned friends may not have helped, even though it was lovely at the time.)

Why is it that I can't help but change my mind. This morning I was longing for the prospect of two weeks break from school, with no plans whatsoever. Now, knowing that I won't see my chums until Halloween, I feel a bit sad. I would love to be at my friend Georgia's house right now with the girls, but work calls- at the horrible time of 8:30am tomorrow.

I guess the moral of this dilemma is that I need to make some plans. So far my plans are homework and blogging. So it looks like I have the whole staying home, doing nothing thing all sorted. This could be an interesting half term break.

Chunky V Neck

When I was down in London last weekend I had an hour to nip to the shops, and my first port of call was Primark. Because of the freezing weather I've only had eyes for jumpers, and this one caught my eye. I bought it a few sizes too big, and now it falls off my shoulders, which I love. The sleeves are really nice and long (something I struggle to find, being so tall) and I'm really liking slouchy sweaters with a pair of skinny jeans.

There's not been much to report on, other than I had my 2nd driving lesson again the other day and I got to drive around a car park, which was exciting. (I didn't stall guys!) Last night our sixth form all went on a trip to raise money for a school expedition- we all bought tickets for a train journey where we got popcorn, fish & chips and played quizzes. It felt like we were on our way to Hogwarts- we all got a little compartment just like the Hogwarts Express.

I hope you've all had a good week- I'm all snuffly and really tired, but tonight I'm going to a girl's night for my friend's 18th! It's scary how old we're getting. My brother moved to university last weekend, it's the strangest feeling! Wishing you all a happy weekend.

Take Me to Paris

Say hello to the new edition to my wardrobe- a winter coat. It's from good old Marks and Spencer's, and it's so versatile. The combo of red lipstick and stripes left me pining for a trip to Paris- any fancy buying me a train ticket? One day I'll go back to the Eiffel Tower, eat Macaroons and visit all the galleries. *A girl can dream.*

Autumn Inspiration

I took to Pinterest and Tumblr to find some Autumn inspiration. As much as I love summer, I get so excited for the crisp mornings and cosy sweaters that autumn brings. Does anyone else feel the same, or is it just me?

As far as music goes, the only song I'm listening to is...

Something about it makes me think of running (and slipping) through all the soggy autumn leaves outside. Maybe you'll think of something completely different, but regardless, I love this song.
